NEWBRIDGE can seal promotion from the Championship East if they win at the Welfare Ground on Saturday afternoon.

‘Bridge, Division One East champions last season, are in pole position for the fifth and final promotion spot.

Bargoed, Cardiff Met, Ystrad Rhondda and Cross Keys are already going up to next season’s Premiership – the second tier beneath the new Elite Domestic Competition – and the Pigs will join them if they beat Ystrad this weekend.

A Newbridge defeat would leave the door open for Beddau, who are three points back and travel to Rumney on Tuesday.

Bedwas are outsiders for the promotion spot after a costly defeat to Glamorgan Wanderers at Bridge Field last weekend.

They need to win at Cross Keys this weekend, hope that ‘Bridge falter and then stun champions-elect Bargoed (away) and beat Treorchy (home).

Keys’ place in the Premiership was confirmed last weekend and Morgan Stoddart’s side could sneak above Ystrad Rhondda into third.

Championship Cup winners Bargoed will complete the double if they enjoy a home victory against one-from-bottom Penallta.

Fixtures: Bargoed v Penallta, Cross Keys v Bedwas, Newbridge v Ystrad Rhondda, Treorchy v Rumney.
