Burst main leaves 9500 homes dry

9500 properties were without water yesterday for a few hours because of a burst water main in Park Road, Risca.

Welsh Water said they immediately sent a team to the scene and repairs were complete just after 9pm. "Some customers may experience low pressure and water discolouration as supplies return to normal" a spokesman said.

Customers who do find their water discoloured are advised to run the tap until the water runs clear.

Welsh Water apologised for any inconvenience and advised customers to call their helpline on 0800 0520130 if they have any problems with water supply.
